Hoola & poi's

Sunday 10 October 2010

The last few nights have been a bit more like high season on the rooftop in spite of the not too great weather. We've had a good crowd!
We've a number of friendly locals (Thai and western) who turn up and play some poi, but last night the hoola hoops came out.
If you're one of those people who remembers playing with these as a child then you're like several of the people there last night  - but funny how the memory tricks you into believing its easy - and instead of a nice little gyrating hoop pretty much everyone got a swirl of the hoop all the way to the floor. There were however a couple of notable exceptions, like the girl with the dress that wouldn't stay up, she had this neat little trick - hand behind the back mid swirl to catch the hoop - twirl it overhead and drop it back again. Then the guy, who only managed to keep the hoop going around his neck - I'm pretty sure he'll have a sore neck today!
It's sorta catching - everyone had a go - and the circling hips after hoop drops to floor never failed to raise a laugh. Good times, good laughs.
No idea what's gonna happen tonight, tomorrow but its always something, always fun. See you there!
